The
Italian Chemical Society (Società Chimica Italiana; SCI) Steering Committee has
instituted on 19/06/02 the Younger Members Chemists Group (Gruppo Giovani SCI;
GGSCI).
The
GGSCI provides a focus for the interests of members aged 35 and under (about
1400 members). It has an interdisciplinary character since the whole members has
to be inscribed at least to one of the Divisions of SCI.
Whether
one is a student, a postgraduate student, a researcher or is employed in
industry, the GGSCI offers the opportunity to establish useful contacts and to
get involved with a variety of events and activities.
The
Group aims to stimulate both the professional and personal development of
Younger Chemists.
The
adhesion to GGSCI is free.
The
GGSCI is directed by the Coordinator and the Steering Committee. The Steering
Committee is composed by the Coordinator and one representative for each
Division of SCI.
The
Local Sections have a Younger Chemists Representative, who makes activity
locally and acts as a point of contact between the GGSCI steering committee and
the GGSCI members.
